Is The Conservative Lobby a Myth?

By dan | April 4, 2009

Hi friends, it’s been awhile… took a retreat from main stream media.
I hope you are all doing well.

Can you help me with this? Is there a Conservative Lobby or is it a myth?

It is my understanding that Conservatism springs from individualism, in a sense, maybe every sense.

So for me it is not easy defining the who or the what about conservatives in the context of ‘lobby’ because would that undo the individual aspect of conservatism?

One thing for sure… Liberty has been on my mind. Liberty in the sense of ‘freedom’… a free spirit.

The other day I tried to recall the last time I truly experienced Liberty. Almost 40 years ago, I concluded. I had no debt. None at all. No vices. Not one. I was a free man. I owed no one a single penny. I was certifiably ‘A Free Man’.

Part of growing up through the 1960’s involved what was called by some a ‘counter culture.’ This is a culture that denounced allegiance to the ‘establishment.’

Springing out of this rejection of entering the main stream industry – commercialism… aspects of society meant you might have been living on the road, which is what I did for awhile.

40 years later, today, I dream of what Liberty felt like and looked like. That is because I took the hook, the line, and the sinker… and bought into the American Dream. An entrepreneur’s version at best.

Debt for Liberty… They are directly linked together.

No matter if it’s your private financial life or if it’s your national patriotic life in debt… there is no Liberty in living a life of debt.

…Forgive us our debt as we forgive our debtors…

Whoever said that was not schooled in modern economics were they?

Today’s solution calls for adding debt on top of debt and I can only conclude that means less liberty for all in the establishment.

Forgiving debt… what an idea that is… no need to print currency… so no devaluation. No need to spend on anything really…

No… that means individuals like me who chose to participate in the American Dream by way of debt are off the hook.

No it doesn’t. It could mean we start over from a new calculated position. Think of it like a re-fi.

What does the Conservative Lobby Voice say? Get out of debt… as fast as you can… whatever way you can… ask for debt forgiveness if you must… work 3 jobs if you must… sell off some of the stuff piling up in your attics – basements – and garages.

Liberty is not fully realized living life in debt.
